With the announcement this week of more comprehensive measures of Maryland’s State of Emergency, we have decided to make additional changes to our operation until the state of emergency is lifted.

  • The church building will be closed until further notice.
  • Only staff and essential personnel will be allowed in the building.
  • The phones will be set to have voicemail pickup, 24/7. We will not be answering the phone, but will be returning any messages as soon as possible.
  • All staff are being encouraged to work from home as much as possible, but we will be coming in for specific meetings or tasks. (get the Asburian out, etc.)
  • Lydia or another staff member will be coming in everyday to retrieve the phone messages and get the mail.
  • The staff will continue to film worship at church unless a shelter in place order is given, and we will practice good social distancing during filming.
  • Pastoral visits will not be offered until the state of emergency is lifted. A pastor will visit you, if needed, by request only. We are happy to talk or pray with you by phone whenever you would like. We are also trying to follow up by phone with people who do not have email or internet access.

This congregation has been through much, but nothing like COVID-19. This is new to all of us. But God is with us and we are in this together. Know also that we are praying for you. May God show us God’s mercy and love in all that we do.

Remember, this too shall pass.

Pastor Tom
