March 16th Lunch & Learn: “What Now?”
Everyone is invited to attend the March 16 Lunch & Learn in the Mackey Room following the 11 am service.
A light lunch will be served followed by a presentation entitled “What Now?” by the Rev. Jack Shitama, joining us via Zoom.
He explains: “In an era defined by polarization and heightened tensions, the ability
to engage with conviction while respecting diverse viewpoints has never been
more crucial. The current political climate demands this now, more than ever.
We’ll cover how to engage the world as a non-anxious presence using the wisdom
of family systems theory and the principles of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s non- violent activism.”
Jack Shitama is director of the Center for Vital Leadership and former executive director of Camp Pecometh & Retreat Ministries, serving the Peninsula-Delaware and Baltimore-Washington Conferences. He is an ordained UMC minister and has served as pastor of churches in Port Deposit and Chesapeake City. His most recent book is “Everyone Loves a Non-Anxious Presence: Calm Down, Grow Up, and Live Your Best Life” and his website can be found at www.thenonanxiousleader.com.
